COMPANY

  • The Hellenic Brewery of Atalanti (EZA), the largest independent beer company in Greece, was founded in 1989 and since then it has enjoyed a growth trajectory throughout its operation, providing the market with internationally awarded products of top quality and unique taste, many of which are successfully exported.
  • It has one of the most modern breweries in the wider region of South-east Europe, located in Atalanti of Fthiotida, the heart of Greece, with a production capacity that now exceeds 80,000,000 litres per year. Raw materials of superior quality are used in the production process, such as the excellent quality and composition water from the wider water table of Parnassos, selected varieties of two-row summer barley and prime aromatic hops. The production process is certified with the international quality standards ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000.
  • It is a source of development for the broader region of Atalanti as well as for the entire Prefecture of Fthiotida, operating in absolute harmony with the environment and utilising an advanced comprehensive system of production processes, with respect and responsibility towards natural resources.
  • Since 2016, the Hellenic Brewery of Atalanti have been investing in primary production through the Barley Contractual Cultivation programme, actively supporting agricultural production and Greek farmers. In 2017, the company carried out another important investment which concerned the commencement of experimental cultivation of hops in the Atalanti region. Since 2019, it has been implementing an innovative dual professional education and training programme for brewers and maltsters.
  • In 2021, faithful to its vision to evolve continuously, the Hellenic Brewery of Atalanti launched a new bottle packaging line in its factory. The new bottle packaging line is one of the most modern and flexible ones in Greece and contributes to the renewal of the company’s competitive advantages, mainly through the opportunities it offers for innovation in new products, for responding better to market demand and its customers’ demand and for the digital transformation of its operation, thus confirming its status as the national champion of the industry and a company which is highly competitive and produces unique products that change the landscape of the market.
  • This investment follows the one completed in 2016, which concerned the installation of a new, state-of-the-art beer can packaging line, and is part of the company’s total investment plan, which amounts to 29.8 million euro.
  • Following the completion of these two investments on new lines, the Hellenic Brewery of Atalanti, a member of the largest business organisations and institutions: Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV), Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE), Marketing Greece, Association of Industries of Thessaly & Central Greece, Hellenic Advertisers Association (SDE), Federation of Hellenic Food Industries (SEVT), is established as one of the most modern breweries in South-east Europe. The future finds EZA ready to achieve its goal of sustainable profitable growth.
