2019 – 30 years of Hellenic Brewery of Atalanti
2020

1989

The company is founded as a subsidiary of the multinational brewing company Löwenbräu, through the acquisition of the Atalanti factory from the Industrial Reconstruction Organisation (OAE).

1996

The Hellenic Brewery of Atalanti (EZA) produce their first Greek brand, PILS HELLAS, while upgrading the quality of Greek beer, with the prolonged maturation process now evolving to at least 21 days.

1998

The German company which owned all of EZA’s shares until that time, transfers the majority of its shares to Greek shareholders. Five years later the company’s ownership becomes 100% Greek. The agreement includes a license to use the internationally recognised brands of the German company for their production and distribution in Greece.

2003

The company gains a strong presence in draft beer, a market segment strongly linked to young people and tourism.

2011

The company charts an independent course. Guided by the message “Greek Creation – Greek Innovation”, it creates new proprietary brands from authentic recipes and actively participates in the decentralised development of the Greek economy.

2012

EZA develops into a dynamic company and launches its new brand, BLUE ISLAND, a beer inspired by the Greek summer.

2013

A capital increase is performed through the entry of the DAMMA Holdings fund as a strategic investor. Following the completion of the process, the development plans of the Hellenic Brewery of Atalanti gain a new momentum. The company makes investments for its modernisation, aiming to increase production and optimise its quality. The Hellenic Brewery of Atalanti launch εζα Premium Pilsener beer, which competes successfully with the best beers on the market.

2015

The construction of the new, modern can production unit is completed, aiming to meet the increased demand. The company introduces Odyssey Red and Odyssey White to the market, and at the same time it launches the new flavours of BLUE ISLAND.

2017

The Hellenic Brewery of Atalanti present new εζα Fine Lager, the new blonde beer which came to establish itself in its category. εζα Fine Lager is the new quality Greek proposal in the category of lager beers which was missing from the market, and came to complement the company’s product range with its presence.

2018

εζα Alcohol Free is presented, in response to the demand for a Greek quality proposal, in the category of alcohol-free beers. The company launches ODYSSEY Dark, adding another premium “member” to the ODYSSEY family, a velvet beer with a dark brown colour.

2019 – 30 years of Hellenic Brewery of Atalanti

In collaboration with the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the company launches the Dual Training programme for the brewer-maltster speciality, which is innovative for Greece. Just before the end of the year, a new Capital Increase is carried out successfully, a sign of market confidence in the great potential of the company, through the entry of the DIORAMA investment fund. A new development cycle commences for the company, which includes new production lines, modernisation of facilities, improvement of competitiveness, as well as a corporate governance upgrade.

2020

The new state-of-the-art glass bottle production line is completed and put into operation, an investment that is part of a 29.8 euro investment plan, since 2013.
